Scam Alert: The Superior Court of Santa Cruz has been notified that an individual posing as a deputy/court security is calling court customers stating that they owe money for failing to appear. If you receive a call of this nature, please contact the court directly at 831-420-2200 to receive accurate information.

Reported Court Scam

The Superior Court of Santa Cruz County has been alerted to several court related scams targeting Santa Cruz County residents.

Please be advised that illicit communications are being made to members of the public regarding human trafficking from a number associated with the Superior Court. These communications are not from the Superior Court. Some of these fake communications made by text message could contain an attachment or a link that may install a virus or other spyware on your device. Please note that these calls are fraudulent and have no connection to the Superior Court. Court personnel will never ask for personal information over the phone such as social security numbers, credit card accounts, or bank routing numbers. If you receive a phone call from someone making these claims and asking for personal or financial information, hang up and immediately report the situation to local law enforcement.
