Real DUI Court in Schools Program

The Santa Cruz Superior Court is committed to promoting DUI prevention among young people through its innovative Real DUI Court in Schools program. This initiative includes a pre-recorded presentation depicting the impact of a DUI trial.  Some classes will also have the opportunity to have a live question and answer session with a judicial officer. This provides high school students with an engaging and interactive platform to understand the serious consequences of DUI offenses, not only for drivers but also for victims and the wider community.

In collaboration with key partners such as the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, the Public Defender's Office, and the District Attorney's Office, the Superior Court strives to bring Real DUI Court in Schools assemblies to high schools across the county. Judicial officers participating in the program in California recognize it as an impactful and effective approach to preventing DUI incidents among teens.
